January 31, 2014

On Monday, February 3, have your child wear red to celebrate Chinese New Year with NLMS. We will make a simple, and somewhat, large dragon for our class to carry in our school's parade. They will also carry the lanterns they made.

As our class feels like it's still in the Arctic zone, we are asking that your child doubles up in long sleeve shirts or even a sweatshirt/hoodie that will keep him/her warm. We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing everyone. The heater is still being repaired by the building manager.

For this Friday, 1/31/2014

There will be no library this Friday. We will be visiting Mr. Efren's classroom to partner-read to the younger ones. We will start as soon as we're done with our spelling test.

Don't forget: Miss Vangie and I will start our spelling test right at 9:20am. Doors will be closed to prevent disruptions.

Today, Wednesday, Jan. 29., we have been actively writing our poems on "Chinese New Year: What is Luck?" The kids came up with a lot of beautiful ideas. Their work will be displayed in the hallway by the end of this week.

Yesterday, the PM class spent time working on their Geography maps labeling and identifying The Great Lakes Region and their capitals. They've also labeled the Great Lakes on their maps.
